What’s great about being in this business for so long is that it’s easy to watch trends and follow my gut when it comes to how the market is shifting. One of the most important lessons I ever learned was that our gut feelings are based on all of our life experiences wrapped around a new experience and moment in time. So the saying, “go with your gut” really is true!
Here’s what my gut has been saying to me: 2019 is gonna be a buyers market so sell this year! I feel really comfortable saying that because there’s real national stats that back that up…
“Recently, U.S. home buyers have faced intense competition due to rising national home prices and tight inventory, prompting many sellers to sell their homes ‘as is’ with little to no fixing up done prior to the sale due to high demand. However, the market may soon shift in favor of buyers, according to new research by the online search portal Zillow.
“Adding to home buyer frustrations, less than half of home buyers purchased the first home they made an offer on, says Zillow. Worse yet, because of the high demand for housing, many sellers in hot markets may receive multiple bids, and end up selling their home for above the asking price.”
But in 2019, the tables are likely to turn…because as the number of houses available increases and the home value appreciation slows, then it’s going to start shifting back towards a buyers market. Did I mention that you should really think about selling your home this year?
